PolyU Graduate School Distinguished Speaker Series (12 May 2022)
Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and self-driving cars first appeared nearly a century ago have been rapidly transforming as research applications of machine learning. Given its wide useful nature, the safety requirements of machine learning software have been catching attention.
In this distinguished speaker seminar, Prof. Lui Sha is invited to deliver “Safety: The Challenge of Machine Learning-Enabled Cyber-Physical Systems”. Prof. Sha is a Chair Professor in Computer Science, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and a recipient of the IEEE's highest honour for exceptional contributions to system science and engineering. He also served as a member of the US National Academy of Science and NASA Advisory Council.
